‘The Black Phone’ Stars Mason Thames and Madeleine McGraw Get Spooked [Video]

Scott Derrickson’s new film The Black Phone was recently released in theaters and it’s already a bonafide summer horror hit. The film, based on a short story by Joe Hill, follows a young boy named Finney (Mason Thames) who’s kidnapped by the Grabber (Ethan Hawke). Thanks to Finney’s psychic abilities, he is able to communicate with the Grabber’s previous victims to find a way to escape the killer’s clutches. Derrickson and frequent collaborator C. Robert Cargill infuse the film with the same terror as they did in their 2012 film Sinister.

Now Dread Central has the opportunity to sit down with two of the young stars of the feature to discuss all things that go bump in the night. While Mason Thames is a certified horror fan, costar Madeline McGraw gets spooked a little more easily. Hear what these rising stars have to say about starring in a terrifying movie alongside Ethan Hawke, and which genre flicks scare them the most.
