‘The Munsters’: Director Rob Zombie Shares Personal Updates From Set

Rob Zombie is getting into his feels on the set of his highly anticipated reimagining of The Munsters. The horror icon has recently shared two new posts to Instagram since we last checked in on him, including a nostalgic throwback to 1979.

First up, earlier this weekend Zombie took to the ‘gram to post a side-by-side of a photo he took of the original Munsters house on a Universal tram tour he took as a child in ’79 next to an image of his own recent recreation of the iconic property. We can’t help but feel all of emotions when we’re reminded that the lifelong Munsters superfan is getting to live out his childhood dreams.

In the status for the side-by-side, Zombie had this to share: “this is photo I took when I was 14 years old of The Munsters house back in 1979 while on the Universal Tram tour. Well, 43 years and 6 thousand miles later I built my own Munsters house. It just goes to show you…”

The second update shared by The Munsters director happened this morning. The shock-rock legend turned family-friendly movie director posted a photo of himself next to iconic actor Jorge Garcia (Lost) who has officially wrapped shooting his role as Floop. This is now the third actor who has wrapped shooting on The Munsters, which means we must be getting closer to a picture wrap soon. I don’t know about you, but I’m getting more and more convinced we will be seeing this film come spooky season.

Here’s what Zombie had to share alongside the post: “Another day… another Munster. That’s a wrap on our new pal @pronouncedhorhay. Trust me gang you are gonna love FLOOP. The best hunchback assistant since Marty Feldman’s Igor.”
