‘The Munsters’: Horror Icon Dee Wallace Joins The Cast Of Rob Zombie’s Reboot!

Big news on the streets of Mockingbird Heights today. Horror hero Dee Wallace has been announced by director Rob Zombie as the latest fiend entering his reboot of The Munsters. According to the director, the actress will join the project as the voice of Good Morning Transylvania.

In a recent Instagram post by Zombie we learn that the fictional Good Morning Transylvania is “Transylvania’s 2nd favorite morning show… soon slipping to 3rd if they don’t update their format.” Relatable. It appears as though Wallace may only make a voice appearance in the new film, but we will have to wait for more updates to be fully sure.

You will absolutely remember Dee Wallace from horror classics like Cujo, Critters, The Hills Have Eyes and The Howling. She is also Rob Zombie regular, having appeared in Halloween (2007), The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, The Lords of Salem and 3 From Hell.

The new Zombie reboot cast for The Munsters includes Sherri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, Jeff Daniel Philips as Herman Munster, and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa Munster. The original cast of The Munsters featured Fred Gwynne, Yvonne de Carlo, Beverly Owen, Butch Patrick, and Al Lewis as Grandpa Munster. Together, the group played the average nuclear American family. But twist—they were a clan of monsters!

Back in the 1980s, they resurfaced as The Munsters Today—the longest-running series in the property’s history. In 2012 NBC gave a reboot a try with Bryan Fuller at the helm. While the pilot for Mockingbird Lane has its fans, it wasn’t enough for the network to push the iteration forward as a series.

Lastly, there’s still no word if The Munsters will head to theaters, or if it’ll be exclusive through the streamer Peacock sometime in 2022.
