‘The Munsters’: Rob Zombie Shares Gothic New Photo Of Castle Location

Horror household name Rob Zombie got back on Instagram late last night. This time he logged in to share the latest image straight from the set of The Munsters. While we’ve already been privy to a ton of photo updates from the constructed Mockingbird Lane set, today we’re taking a field trip to a stunning castle in Budapest.

The photo is presumably a new shooting location for Rob Zombie’s currently filming production of The Munsters starring Sherri Moon Zombie and Daniel Roebuck. The photo is of a deliriously gorgeous European castle. We really gotta get some of these here stateside, they’re just so goddamn metal.

It’s safe to assume that Rob Zombie is sticking as close to the original property as possible. Almost every detail that he’s shared has been an exact replica of what was seen in the original television series. While the original series only lasted for two seasons, it produced a number of television specials, spin-offs, and features over the past 60 years.

Beyond his extensive music career, Rob Zombie has already directed a handful of hotly debated genre classics. The critically acclaimed House of 1000 Corpses and the 2007 remake of Halloween, for instance, remain extremely polarizing to this day.

The original cast of The Munsterfeatured Fred Gwynne, Yvonne de Carlo, Beverly Owen, Butch Patrick, and Al Lewis as Grandpa Munster. Together the group played the average nuclear American family… except for the fact that they were literal monsters.
