Even more cinematic insanity has been announced for this year’s Boston Underground Film Festival, scheduled this year for March 27 through 31. Among the new titles announced are Big Ass Spider and Guilty of Romance. Read on for all the details!

From the Press Release
The 15th Annual Boston Underground Film Festival continues their barrage of insanity at the Brattle Theatre, from March 27th through the 31st, delivering a second wave of wild programming guaranteed to shake the pillars of Heaven. This year’s fest wraps up with a closing night film unlike any other – Mike Mendez’s knowingly tongue-in-cheek sci-fi/horror romp, Big Ass Spider!–fresh from its World Premiere at SXSW 2013! With the celebrated director (best-known for 2006’s The Gravedancers) in Cambridge and producer and magical conjurer Travis Stevens, who’s Cheap Thrills also plays BUFF 2013!

Joining our oversized arachnid pal in Boston Underground’s second wave of killer programming is Sion Sono’s Guilty of Romance–an eerie, boundary-pushing thriller from one of Japan’s masters of suspense. Always unorthodox, this acclaimed international gem starts off with a bang, as a dead body leads investigators to a demure housewife, leading a secret life as a nude model.

Also on the docket is Chad Crawford Kinkle’s Jug Face, whose story follows a teen girl, pregnant with her brother’s child, trying to escape from a backwoods community. The only catch? It turns out she’s supposed to be sacrificing herself to a creature living in a nearby pit! Fresh from Slamdance, director Kinkle joins us for the East Coast Premiere of his low-fi thriller, along with producer Andrew van den Houten!

From Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, founding member of The Mars Volta, comes the New England Premiere of Los Chidos, an adventure that Twitch calls “one of the wildest, most innovative, and full on challenging films of the year!” Part comedy and part fable, with just a dash of social and political commentary, the family running this film’s quaint tire shop will capture your heart and warm your soul…once you get past their misogyny and homophobia.

Let’s keep it rolling with the New England Premiere of Mondomanila, a bugnuts insane Filipino drama/musical/horror/experimental/exploitation film from poet/singer/songwriter/pianist/filmmaker KHAVN and the East Coast Premiere of The Rambler, Sundance 2013’s brutal, hilarious slap in the face starring Dermot Mulroney and Natasha Lyonne.

And last, but far from least, there;s See You Next Tuesday, a Brooklyn-lensed indie darling featuring an unbalanced pregnant young woman lapsing further and further into insanity…but thankfully for all of us, she’s bringing Boston Underground along for the ride! Join writer/director Drew Tobia as we let loose with this beautiful, stirring little dark comedy the whole family can enjoy cutting themselves to.

Ripped from the underground, these incredible titles are joined by the films announced in our first wave of programming: I Declare War, White Reindeer, Cheap Thrills, Vanishing Waves, Pieta, A Band Called Death, and The Manson Family. Guests announced from the first wave of titles include Cheap Thrills’ E.L. Katz and Travis Stevens; I Declare War’s Robert Wilson, Lewin Webb, and Patrick Cameron; and White Reindeer’s Zach Clark.
