‘The Munsters’: Rob Zombie Posts Beautiful New Photo Of Mockingbird Lane

Musician turned filmmaker Rob Zombie has been in Hungary since last summer preparing and shooting his forthcoming reboot of The Munsters. During his time overseas, Zombie has been more than generous with us fans, sharing details after detail surrounding his long-planned passion project.

Today Rob Zombie is back on Instagram to share yet another awesome behind-the-scenes photo of his set. This time the director has shared our clearest shot yet of 1313 Mockingbird Lane. And she is a thing of beauty.

Zombie’s obvious passion for the famous franchise is clear as day, as every last production detail surrounding his film has stayed 100% true to the original source material. From set decoration to town construction to costume design and beyond, Rob Zombie’s The Munsters is paying its respects to the original 1964 sitcom.

This isn’t the first time the franchise has been recalibrated for modern audiences. Back in the 1980s, they resurfaced as The Munsters Today—the longest-running series in the property’s history. In 2012 NBC gave a reboot a try with Bryan Fuller at the helm. While the pilot for Mockingbird Lane has its fans, it wasn’t enough for the network to push the iteration forward as a series.

Zombie has been chasing this film adaptation for 20-some-odd years, according to the first Instagram post he shared on the subject. The new Rob Zombie film is likely to hit the streaming service Peacock sometime next year. We’re still unsure if the project will be seen theatrically. Keep an eye on Dread Central for more updates as they come in.
