‘Alan Wake 2’: Dark And Twisted Trailer For New Game Makes Online Debut [Video]
Time to get out your flashlight and check the batteries: Alan Wake 2 is returning to Bright Falls and we will not be sleeping on it.
Remedy Entertainment has been teasing their intentions of creating a new Alan Wake, and now there is a first announcement out of The Game Awards. The title will premiere on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC sometime in 2023. Consider us psyched.
The scary new trailer for Alan Wake 2 is also here to quench our thirst. And this bad boy is just chock full of nasty surprises. There are Silent Hill vibes for days, and the horror of it all is definitely turned up a notch.
Remedy’s own Sam Lake had some things to share about the new game on stage at The Game Awards. “We are breaking new ground here,” Lake said. “This is going to be Remedy’s first ever survival horror game. Remedy’s take on the genre.”
The head writer for the project didn’t mince words. He continued by outright stating it will be “a pretty scary experience.”
Check out the Alan Wake 2 trailer here:
The first Alan Wake game was a sleeper hit for the Xbox 360 over a decade ago and is widely considered to be on the most unique games of its generation. The story follows a writer during his homecoming to a strange Castle Rock-type small town. The Stephen King vibes don’t stop there, as Alan Wake goes on to encounter eccentric characters and bizarre visions of darkness.
As Lake noted, the original was more of an action game, with Alan Wake 2 leaning directly into survival horror.
