‘Bad Ben’ Director Nigel Bach Talks About The Future Of The Series

In 2016, Nigel Bach decided to make a movie. He directed commercials for years and finally made moves to direct his first feature film. Little did he know that his first film Bad Ben would launch a nine-film series and gain a cult following.
The most recent film Bad Ben: Benign just hit VOD this week, so Dread Central sat down with Bach to discuss his runaway success. Plus, he walks us through some of his favorite scares and how he was able to pull off each film on his own. He also drops some hints about the next (and perhaps final) installment of the series.

The first film follows Tom Riley, who buys a home at a Sheriff’s sale hoping to flip it. But, almost immediately, unexplained events start to happen. This leads him to realize the house is possessed. The events unfold through Riley’s cell phone footage and previously installed security cameras.
Bad Ben has gathered quite the social media following, with thousands of fans calling themselves Bennites. From the original film to the prequels, Bach has achieved the indie filmmaking dream in creating this tight-knit community around his work.
Breaking Glass Pictures recently acquired the entire cult favorite horror series. All nine Bad Ben films are now available on Vimeo. They’ll be released on other platforms forthcoming this month. You can also purchase the entire series on digital and DVD.
