New ‘Groovy Collection’ Includes First 2 ‘Evil Dead’ Movies and All 3 Seasons of ‘Ash Vs. Evil Dead’

The Evil Dead franchise will continue when Evil Dead Rise is released on a to-be-announced date in 2022. And while fans of Sam Raimi’s iconic property are stoked, a contingency is disappointed by the fact that series mainstay Bruce Campbell will not be reprising the role of Ash Williams.
Still, fans of the Ash era can bask in his glory with a brand new box set, arriving November 16 on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and Digital from Lionsgate.
The original two films, as well as the three-season of the series Ash vs Evil Dead, are coming home in The Evil Dead Groovy Collection. Cult horror favorite Campbell (Army of Darkness, Bubba Ho-Tep) returns in this collectible package, as well as Ellen Sandweiss (My Name Is Bruce, TV’s Dangerous Women) and Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess, My Life Is Murder, Spider-Man).
Per a press release:
“Horror fans, return to that iconic cabin in the woods, then travel decades beyond it, with this Groovy Collection. Wisecracking ladies’ man Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) is reborn as a slayer of Deadites in The Evil Dead (4K + Blu-ray™) after a vacation in the country is ruined by the reading of an ancient demon-summoning text. In Evil Dead II (4K + Blu-ray), a chainsaw-armed Ash is pushed to the brink of madness by unhinged evil yet again, while Ash vs Evil Dead (Blu-ray) follows an older, grayer Ash over three wild seasons as he reckons with his bloody past in the face of a Deadite plague.”
The Groovy Collection includes a bonus content DVD, with over three hours of features revisiting the first film’s cast, crew, and undying legacy.
