‘Autumn Road’: Halloween-Flavored Indie to Hit VOD This November

Gravitas Ventures, a Red Arrow Studios Company, has acquired North American rights to Autumn Road. The new dramatic horror indie’s cast includes Lorelei Linklater (Boyhood, Bomb City), Justin Meeks (Kill Or Be Killed) and Lar Park Lincoln (Friday The 13th: Part VII). Riley Cusick will helm the project as director in his feature directorial debut. This is also the first movie produced under the newly established Texas-based production company The Last Motel.

Autumn Road

Autumn Road revolves around twin brothers who run a local roadside haunted house. Ten years after a young girl goes missing on Halloween night, her sister returns to their hometown to look for answers and becomes entangled in the world of the two brothers.

While the film is Cusick’s first feature film as director, he’s no stranger to the horror genre. Cusick has directed quite a few short films since 2018, such as Sweetie, Skin & Bone, and Jackalope. He’s also an actor, appearing in films such as VFW and Satanic Panic. He’ll star in this film as well, playing twins Charlie and Vincent.

Autumn Road is a very clever and confident addition to the genre. The haunted house aesthetic and horror imagery feel right at home among the classics; however, this visual style is almost a trojan horse that allows the film to explore complex relationships and meaningful ideas while keeping the viewer on the edge of their seat,” Gravitas Ventures’ Sales & Acquisitions Manager David Sullivan said.

Producer Xander McCabe added: “[Autumn Road] is not conventional, it doesn’t adhere to any one genre, and it’s certainly a small indie, but those are the movies I love. I feel like we took a risk and I hope that translates for people. I especially hope that those out there with autumnal souls will walk away feeling like this does the season justice.” McCabe produced the film alongside executive producers Eric Floyd and Mark Schultz

Autumn Road hits VOD on November 23rd, 2021.
