“Dissecting Horror” Continues September 8th with the Creatives of ‘We Need to Do Something’

The next installment of the “Dissecting Horror” digital panel series will take place Wednesday, September 8th at 6 pm PST and be with the creative talent from IFC Midnight’s We Need to Do Something.

Panelists include director Sean King O’Grady, writer/producer Max Booth III, production designer Amy Williams, and actor Pat Healy (Robert). I’ll be moderating. We Need to Do Something arrives in select theaters and VOD platforms today (September 3, 2021)!
Synopsis:
After Melissa and her family seek shelter from a storm, they become trapped. With no sign of rescue, hours turn to days and Melissa comes to realize that she and her girlfriend Amy might have something to do with the horrors that threaten to tear her family – and the entire world, apart.
We Need to Do Something stars Sierra McCormick (The Vast of Night), Vinessa Shaw (Eyes Wide Shut, Hocus Pocus), Pat Healy (Cheap Thrills, The Innkeepers), John James Cronin (NOS4A2), and newcomer Lisette Alexis. The film is produced by Bill Stertz, Josh Malerman (Bird Box), Ryan Lewis (Bird Box), and Peter Block (Saw series), alongside EPs Lauren Hantz, John Hantz, Donovan Leitch, Katherine Waddell, and Max Booth III.

Dread Central and Jordan von Netzer of Projection PR launched “Dissecting Horror” on April 15th, 2020 with a panel focused on horror film scores. Since then, they have produced panels spotlighting stunt coordinators, composers, visual/special effects, and the creatives behind Followed, Cruiser, 12 Hour Shift, Don’t Look Back, Hunter Hunter, Willy’s Wonderland, Wrong Turn, Dreamcatcher, Making Monsters, The Banishing, Initiation, The Djinn, The Boy Behind the Door, Superhost, and Parallel.

Sean King O’Grady (Director)
Sean King O’ Grady is a Michigan-based filmmaker.
Max Booth III (Writer/Producer)
Max Booth III is the screenwriter and executive producer of We Need to Do Something. He’s also the Editor-in-Chief of Perpetual Motion Machine, the Managing Editor of Dark Moon Digest, and the host of Ghoulish, a podcast dedicated to celebrating everything spooky. He’s written several novels, including Touch the Night and The Nightly Disease plus other books without the word “night” included in the title. Amy Williams (Production Designer)
Emmy winner Amy Williams grew up in Novi Michigan, outside of Detroit. She studied at Michigan State University, where she earned a degree in Art History and Political Philosophy.
After graduation, she moved to New York City, managing and curating for The Leo Koening Gallery, MOCADC, and Stephen Stux Gallery.
In 2006 she began working in film and television, quickly amassing a body of work that includes Jamie Marks is Dead and Love Is Strange. Both were 2014 Sundance Film festival selections while her film, Sleeping with Other People, premiered at the festival as well.
Other films like The Maids Room, Last Weekend, Longest Week, Hungry Hearts, and the critically acclaimed and award-winning film Keep the Lights On, make up her impressive catalog of film. These films have gone on to Sundance, Venice, Berlin, Toronto, Tribeca, and Austin film festivals.
In addition to her film work, she’s also forged an award-winning career in the world of Television. In 2014, her scenic work led to her first Emmy win for A Crime to Remember and an Art Director’s Guild Nomination for the second season of Master of None.
In 2015 she began her collaboration with Producers Aziz Anasri and Alan Yang, on the Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning series Master of None on Netflix, for which she garnered an ADGA nomination and eventually, a 3rd season Co-Producer credit. The partnership with both Ansari and Yang blossomed into several other projects including the film Tigertail, Amazon series, Forever and the BAFTA-nominated Apple TV+ Anthology series, Little America.
More recently, Amy’s work can be viewed in the Judd Apatow series Crashing for HBO, the recently released series The Wilds for Amazon, the 2021 Tribeca Festival hit and upcoming IFC Midnight film We Need to Do Something and the upcoming limited series We Crashed, for Apple TV+.
She currently resides in Brooklyn.
Pat Healy (Robert)
Pat Healy began his career at Chicago’s famed Steppenwolf theatre company. He has starred in the cult classic films Cheap Thrills, The Innkeepers, and Compliance and worked with some of the world’s great directors like Paul Thomas Anderson (Magnolia), Werner Herzog (Rescue Dawn), Steven Spielberg (The Post), and Martin Scorsese (the upcoming Killers of the Flower Moon). Other films include Ghost World, Pearl Harbor, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and more recently on the Hulu film Run opposite Sarah Paulson and HBO’s Bad Education with Hugh Jackman and Allison Janney.
He is an accomplished screenwriter with two scripts (Snow Ponies and Strange Skies) that have landed him on Hollywood’s prestigious The Black List. He made his feature directorial debut and co-starred with Taylor Schilling on Take Me, which world premiered at Tribeca in 2017.

He can currently be seen in regular recurring roles on both ABC’s Station 19 and Amazon’s Them and has also acted in dozens of tv series including Grey’s Anatomy, Ray Donovan, Six Feet Under, and Shameless to name but a few.
