Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ Kicks Off Production Soon, Full Cast Confirmed

Well, damn. Big news for spooky kids today. We’ve got official confirmation that Guillermo del Toro’s new horror anthology series is kicking off production in Toronto soon. The series is billed as an all-new, live-action genre-defining and chilling collection of distinct stories. Best of all, it’ll be coming soon directly to Netflix.

Cabinet of Curiosities hails from acclaimed Academy Award-winning filmmaker and creator, executive producer and co-showrunner Guillermo del Toro. Toro has curated a collection of unprecedented and genre-defining stories meant to challenge our traditional notions of horror.

From macabre to magical, gothic to grotesque or classically creepy, these eight equally sophisticated and sinister tales will be brought to life by a team of writers and directors personally chosen by del Toro. Including del Toro himself.

Subsequently, Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is executive produced by Academy Award winner J. Miles Dale (The Shape of Water; Sex/Life), who also serves as co-showrunner; and Gary Ungar. Do you remember a previously announced series Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight? Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is the new and final title for the scary anthology project, which has landed at Netflix.

Check out the confirmed list of talent:

Panos Cosmatos, Jennifer Kent and Vincenzo Natali write and direct singular episodes. Additional episode directors include Ana Lily Amirpour, Catherine Hardwicke, Guillermo Navarro, David Prior and Keith Thomas.

Also, writers for the project include Haley Z. Boston, Regina Corrado, David S. Goyer, Lee Patterson, Aaron Stewart-Ahn and Mika Watkins.

Lastly, the cast for the Cabinet include F. Murray Abraham, Ben Barnes, Elpidia Carrillo, Essie Davis, Hannah Galway, Crispin Glover, David Hewlett, Andrew Lincoln, Luke Roberts, Sebastian Roché, Glynn Turman and Peter Weller have all signed on.
