A Scary New CANDYMAN Is Revealed In Latest Image

A new image from Nia DaCosta’s incoming Candyman is here via Bloody Disgusting and it’s giving me the creeps.
First of all, the frightening photo unveils actor Michael Hargrove as the character Sherman Fields. We expect him to portray only one version of the Candyman. Secondly, Sherman’s backstory is revealed in the film’s second trailer and it’s fascinating…

The official synopsis for Candyman:
A supernatural killer with a hook for a hand, easily summoned by those daring to repeat his name five times into a mirror. Now Anthony McCoy and his girlfriend, gallery director Brianna Cartwright, move into a luxury loft condo in Cabrini.
However with Anthony’s painting career on the brink of stalling, a chance encounter with a Cabrini Green old-timer (Colman Domingo exposes Anthony to the tragically horrific nature of the true story behind Candyman. Anxious to maintain his status in the Chicago art world, Anthony begins to explore these macabre details in his studio as fresh grist for paintings, subsequnetly opening a door to a complex past that unravels his own sanity and unleashes a terrifyingly viral wave of violence that puts him on a collision course with destiny.
Also, the new film has cast Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Teyonah Parris, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Colman Domingo, Vanessa Williams, alongside franchise veteran Tony Todd.
Most importantly, Candyman floats his way back into theatres everywhere on August 27th.
