Holly Madison Shares Scary Ghost Stories From The Playboy Mansion

Ever since Holly Madison and former playmate Bridget Marquardt left the Playboy Mansion, they’ve been active in the scary landscape of ghost hunting. On August 5th they appeared on Ghost Adventures to find the spirits in Madison’s current Los Angeles house.
But before these two icons began their own small-time ghostbusting career, they lived in one of the scariest houses in America — The Playboy Mansion.
In a recent conversation with Nylon, Madison shared some terrifying stories about being a playmate and Hugh Hefner’s girlfriend for nearly ten years.
According to Madison, the mansion used to be quite literally referred to as “The Haunted Mansion” by neighbours due to the home’s looming, ornate appearance.
“The Playboy Mansion is a home that’s very intriguing for so many reasons,” Madison said. “There are all these weird urban legends like trafficking tunnels. It takes on a life of its own.”
This isn’t the first time Madison has shared her spooky experiences. Back on the classic reality series The Girls Next Door, Madison shared a story about encountering a fitness ghost on the premises.
She describes the gym ghost as wearing:
“A hot pink sports bra and black workout pants who floated through the Playboy mansion and out aside a door.” The model allegedly followed the apparition but found herself at a dead end. She never saw the sexy ghost again.
“Even though I’d seen that weird thing with the disappearing woman in the gym, sometimes when those things happen, you try to rationalize them away,” she told cameras.
“For me, it took a bunch of different experiences before I thought ‘OK, there’s something weird going on here.’ I said I wish I had more proof it was real, and right away when I said that, her TV turned on by itself and the volume went all the way up.”
Marquardt also had a terrifying story about her time in the bunny house.
“You definitely felt the nostalgia and the old energy,” Marquardt told Nylon. Describing a ghost she encountered, she had this to say:
She had long, black stringy hair, very pale, very thin. She was wearing a white T-shirt that was too big on her and black acid wash-y jeans — She was more modern-day and I feel like I recognized who she was — There was a new pet in the house, and she was just seeing what was going on. I think it was a loving thing, but it’s scary because it’s shocking.
Holly Madison has also released the book Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny in 2015.
