Bruce Campbell Will Not Appear in EVIL DEAD RISE

Ashely will not be appearing in the 2022 HBO Max feature Evil Dead Rise.
The legendary fan fave confirmed it in a recent conversation with Entertainment Weekly. While Campbell made mention of retiring his character after the cancellation of Ash Vs The Evil Dead, the fandom was still holding out hope for a cameo…
There is good news, though! Campbell once again confirmed that he will be voicing Ash in the upcoming 2022 Evil Dead video game. This means that while Campbell may not physically play Ash again anytime soon, he’s still down to clown when it comes to voice roles.
Here’s what he said in a recent interview
I won’t be appearing in it, no. l’ll be in the upcoming Evil Dead game, which I think is due for February 2022. I just finished the voice for that. The nice thing is, your voice doesn’t age as much as your body, so I can milk that for a few more years.
While this is a disappointing confirmation, we’re still excited to see what Evil Dead Rise has in store. Putting the action in a totally different setting could be the refresher the franchise has been looking for since the 2013 remake starring Jane Levy. Bruce teased that this next installment will be Necronomicon-non negotiable.
Bruce continued by saying:
“It’s all about [the Necronomicon]. Where does this book wind up and what happens to it over the millennia? In this case, it’s set in the city, it’s no more cabin in the woods. It’s entirely different, unsuspecting heroines who are going to save the day.
Evil Dead Rise hails from Lee Cronin (dir. The Hole in the Ground) and stars Alyssa Sutherland, Lily Sullivan, Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, and Nell Fisher. Both Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi are serving as executive producers.
