Ari Aster Now Teaming Up with Michael R. Jackson on New Horror Movie for A24

Air Aster and the production company A24 have been a match made in Heaven (or Hell, depending on your perspective!). The filmmaker and studio have been reshaping the horror landscape for years, first with Hereditary, then will Midsommar, and (in the future) with Disappointment Blvd.

Today brings word that Aster and A24 have another horror movie in the works, and they’ve recruited Michael R. Jackson for the new endeavor. Deadline broke the news, reporting:
Pulitzer Prize and New York Drama Critics Circle winning playwright Michael R. Jackson has sold an original pitch to write an untitled horror feature for A24. Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen are producing under their Square Peg banner. Insiders add this project is still in early development.
Absolutely nothing else is known about the film at this time, and there’s no guarantee that Aster will sit in the director’s chair. Still, this sounds like a dream team and a dream project for all involved. We’ll definitely keep you posted as additional details are announced.
As for Disappointment Blvd., very little is known about that film as well. Confirmed cast members for that project (which Aster is definitely directing) include Joaquin Phoenix, Nathan Lane, Patti LuPone, Amy Ryan, and Kylie Rogers.
