THE BOYS Showrunner Now Promises Craziest Moment Ever in Season 3 Premiere

If you’re a fan of The Boys on Prime Video then you’re already aware of the outrageous (and sometimes disturbing) antics both the show and graphic novels can get up to. So, it’s no surprise that the upcoming season will feature an adaptation of “Herogasm” — one of the most infamous and controversial comic book arcs of all time. That’s right, we’re talking about the infamous sex island orgy of supes.
Still, in true Boys fashion, Entertainment Weekly now also promises Herogasm isn’t even close to being the craziest moment season 3 has to offer.
Showrunner Eric Kripe explains:
“We have some crazier thing … Beyond even ‘Herogasm,’ I still think the craziest thing we’ve ever done is in Episode 1. That said, ‘Herogasm,’ the dailies are bananas. I’ve been around the block a few times. I’m a seasoned producer. Every single day on those dailies, my jaw was on the floor. I just could not believe how insane those dailies were. It’s just crazy. I can tell you that for anybody who is a fan of the comic and is expecting to see Herogasm, we are delivering it. That is happening.”
Well, damn. This is why we love this show so goddamn much. They just keep pushing the boundaries of good taste and we love to see it. In the overly sanitized world of superhero media, The Boys continues to be a refreshing and disgusting palette cleanser.
The Herogasm comic book arc lasted for six releases and was written by Ennis, John McCrea, and Keith Burns. The third season of The Boys is adapting the arc Season 3 for its sixth episode. It’ll be written by Jessica Chou, so you know it’s going to be a wild ride of debauchery!
The Boys was recently nominated with Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series, Original Music and Lyrics, Sound Mixing, Special Visual Effects, and Writing for a Drama Series.
