THE BOYS Adds 3 to Cast Including Sean Patrick Flanery

The casting news for the Amazon series The Boys just keeps coming. Earlier this week we got news that Laurie Holden (The Walking Dead) is hopping in as a recurring part of Garth Ennis’ manic superhero world. This week, we’re finding out that The Boondock Saints‘ Patrick Flanery is joining the cast, along with Nick Wechsler (Roswell) and Miles Gaston Villanueva (Nancy Drew).

Flanery of course is primarily known for his work in the cult action hit The Boondock Saints, where he starred alongside Norman Reedus. He’ll be playing a superhero from The Boys comics called Gunpowder. In the comics, he was a minor antagonist. In recent years, Flanery has seen work as a recurring cast member on The Dead Zone and his understated role as young Indiana Jones in Young Indiana Jones.
Villaneuva will be playing Supersonic in season 3 of The Boys. He is original to the series. Thus, no details are given. He isn’t featured in the comics. Rumors place him as Starlight’s ex, but nothing concrete.
Weschler will be playing Blue Hawk. Another original character for The Boys. I guess we can assume he’ll have a blue outfit? The Boys Season 3 cast seems to be filling out more and more by the day. Jensen Ackles being the biggest get so far. He’ll be playing Soldier Boy. Soldier Boy is from the comics and was one of the original superheroes. Not a lot of info has dropped about season 3, but we’ll keep you updated.
