RIDDICK 4 is Not Dead, Expected to Film in Australia

Riddick

The long-gestured fourth installment in the Riddick series (tentatively referred to as Riddick 4: Furya) is still in the works. A script has been written and the latest franchise entry is expected to shoot in Australia. Moreover, a new video game tie-in is being teased by series frontman Vin Diesel, who recently chatted all things Riddick in a recent interview with Games Radar+. From the sounds of it, getting the project off the ground just comes down to scheduling.

“David Twohy, he wrote a great script,” said Diesel. “It’s just a matter of timing when we get that opportunity to shoot that. But I believe we’re shooting that in Australia. And it would be the fourth chapter in that series, which would be awesome.”

“We did have great success with Escape From Butcher Bay, Diesel continued. “It feels like an eternity ago now. But, I imagine that we would take advantage of the gaming space and add an extra chapter, but definitely, the [movie’s] script is already written. So it’s safe to say that we are moving towards filming the fourth chapter of Riddick.”

Synopsis: The seriesfollows the adventures of Richard B. Riddick as he attempts to elude capture after the events depicted in the 2000 film Pitch Black. Vin Diesel reprises his role and acts as producer. … After hiding from bounty hunters and mercenaries for five years, Riddick reunites with his old friends Imam and Jack.

No word on precisely when cameras will roll on the upcoming sequel. But rest assured that we will keep you in the loop as we learn more.
