WORLD WAR Z Author’s Bigfoot Film DEVOLUTION Lands Director

THR is reporting that the big-screen adaptation of Max Brooks’ (World War Z) Bigfoot horror tome Devolution has found its director in James Ashcroft. Ashcroft previously helmed the horror flick Coming Home in the Dark, which debuted to positive reviews at Sundance earlier this year and has already been acquired by Netflix.

The majestically mustachioed Ashcroft (pictured below) will be taking a pass at the script alongside Eli Kent, with whom he co-wrote Coming Home in the Dark.

The novel is set in a model eco-community nestled in the forests of Washington State in the wake of a natural disaster that has left the residents isolated from humanity. After being cut off from the outside world, the community is subsequently plagued by a clan of Sasquatches. In the novel, the narrative is told via the journal entries of one of the town’s residents.
