A QUIET PLACE Spinoff (Not Another Sequel) Now Aiming for 2023 Release

A Quiet Place Part II (now playing in theaters nationwide) does extensive world-building. So it’s no surprise, really, that Paramount is looking to expand the franchise with a new spinoff.

Deadline broke the news that Paramount is now aiming to release a Quiet Place spinoff feature film. To be clear, this is not another sequel, rather a standalone that exists in the same universe. The site reports:
Paramount has just put an untitled A Quiet Place movie on the calendar for March 31, 2023. This is the one that Jeff Nichols is writing and directing, and which Deadline first told you about. It’s not a threequel, but rather based on an idea from John Krasinski.

Synopsis:
The Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
