On the verge of losing their farms, two families are approached to lease their land to a natural gas company in Unearth. While one rejects it, the other sees this as the answer to all their problems. As soon as the drill hits the soil, things around their homestead begin to change. Descending deeper, the drill unlocks the faceless evil that has been kept safe below their feet, until now.
Directed by John C. Lyons and Dorota Swies, Unearth does away with fanatical madmen and brings horror home; into the soil we tread and the air we breathe. Written by Lyons and Kelsey Goldberg, the film was also Produced by Swies and Lyons along with Marc Blucas and Allison McAtee. Executive Producers include Greg Sorce and Joel Deuterman.
Unearth stars horror icon Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog) and industry veteran Marc Blucas (Buffy the Vampire Slayer).
“Audiences can look forward to exquisite cinematography, fascinating characters, in-depth, satisfying performances, and the most tense final 30-minutes of film that I’ve endured in a long time,” says Barbeau. Best known for her work on cult classic horror films like The Fog, Escape from New York, and Creepshow, Adrienne Barbeau transforms into a woman searching for a way to save her family in Unearth. Soon enough, she learns the true dangers around her are those she doesn’t even know to look for.
