Horror History: Happy Birthday, Justin Long!

On this day in horror history, Justin Long was born in Fairfield, Connecticut in 1978. Long is best known to all of us for his roles in horror flick such as Jeepers Creepers, Drag Me to Hell, and Tusk.

He kicked off his career in – fittingly – one of the funniest movies ever, Galaxy Quest.

From there he made a name for himself in most comedies like Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Waiting…, Accepted, and Idiocracy.

Not to mention more, um, movies your mom likes such as Herbie: Fully Loaded, The Break-Up, He’s Just Not That Into You, and Going the Distance.

But at least he starred in the last good Die Hard movie, Live Free or Die Hard.

Recently, Justin Long can be seen in Creepshow Season 2 Episode 5 “Night of the Living Late Show.” Up next he will voice Roboto in Kevin Smith’s Netflix series, Masters of the Universe: Revelation.

Long also starred in Epic Pictures and director Gille Klabin’s 2019 head trip The Wave.

The film begins when Long goes out on the town to celebrate an upcoming promotion. His night then takes an unexpected and bizarre turn when he is dosed with a hallucinogen that alters his perception and changes his life forever.

The film sports a 67% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus: Much like its addled protagonist, The Wave struggles to stay on target, but Justin Long’s performance helps this pleasantly offbeat sci-fi fantasy find its way.

All horror business aside, I have to say without a doubt that the reason I fucking love Justin Long is for his role as Brandon St. Randy in writer-director Kevin Smith’s Zack & Miri Make A Porno. It is hands down one of the funniest roles I have ever seen.
