Scream Factory Now Announces New HOUSE OF WAX Collector’s Edition Blu-ray

Scream Factory will release Dark Castle’s House of Wax remake on Collector’s Edition Blu-ray on July 13th. Special features are in the works and will be announced later.

But Scream Factory confirms a new high definition transfer is underway. Plus, a new interview with Paris Hilton will be included. So, you know, that’s something.
House of Wax centers on a gang of college friends en route to a school football game when they wind up with a flat tire in a ghost town. They are forced to seek help in the only place that’s open: the local wax museum. Once inside the spooky and seemingly abandoned building, they find the works on display are not quite what they seem. And the group soon discovers it’s being hunted by the insane owner of the museum.

Jaume Collet-Serra (Orphan, The Shallows) directed from a screenplay by Chad & Carey Hayes (The Conjuring). The 2005 slasher flick is a remake of the 1953 film.
Elisha Cuthbert (The Girl Next Door) stars with Chad Michael Murray, Brian Van Holt, Paris Hilton, Jared Padalecki (Friday the 13th), Jon Abrahams, and Robert Ri’chard.
It’s rated R for horror violence, some sexual content, and language.
The cult classic Dark Castle remake cureently sports a 26% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus reads: Bearing little resemblance to the 1953 original, House of Wax is a formulaic but better-than-average teen slasher flick.
