Blumhouse-Epix Thriller A HOUSE ON THE BAYOU Sets Three Leads

Blumhouse and Epix’s House on the Bayou has begun production in New Orleans. And today we learned it’s snagged its leads. They are Paul Schneider (Channel Zero: Candle Cove), Angela Sarafyan (Westworld), and also Jacob Lofland (Maze Runner).

Additional cast includes Doug Van Liew (Ida Red, Camp Cold Brook), Lauren Richards (Venom, Doom Patrol), and also Lia McHugh (The Lodge, Marvel’s Eternals).

The film follows a troubled family (Schneider, Sarafyan, McHugh) who go on vacation to an isolated house in the Louisiana bayou to reconnect as a family.

But when unexpected visitors arrive, their façade of family unity starts to unravel, as terrifying secrets come to light. McHugh plays the teenager who becomes dangerously intrigued by the attention of a handsome, older, local boy.

A House on the Bayou is the first of eight standalone horror films under a deal between Epix and Blumhouse Television.

Chris McCumber, President Blumhouse Television, also added: “This partnership with EPIX is an additional opportunity for us to collaborate with a great team in helping them grow their slate of genre films, while continuing to bring Blumhouse fans the kind of programming they know and love.”

Don’t Tell a Soul director Alex McAulay will helm the horror from his own screenplay. Blumhouse’s Jason Blum will executive produce along with Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold, and Mary-Margaret Kunze. Epix will unleash the new horror film in late 2021.
