New PARANORMAL ACTIVITY Movie Snags Lead Cast

Blumhouse’s new Paranormal Activity movie has snagged its lead cast. TheWrap reports PA7 stars Emily Bader (Broken Visions, Charmed), Roland Buck III (Chicago Med, Better Call Saul, College), Dan Lippert (The Grand Slams, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, American Princess), and Henry Ayres-Brown (The Blacklist, The Deuce, Monsterland).

Sounds good to me.

William Eubank (Underwater) will direct from a screenplay by Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky). Landon is no stranger to the found footage franchise. He penned Paranormal Activity 24 as well as The Marked Ones (which he also directed).

Blumhouse’s Jason Blum and Paranormal Activity writer/director Oren Peli are producing. Plot details are currently hush-hush but it will still use found footage.

Duh.

The original centers on a couple who become increasingly disturbed by what appears to be a supernatural presence. They set up video cameras in their house hoping to capture it on film. But they are not prepared for the terror that follows.

It sports an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: Using its low-budget effects and mockumentary method to great result, Paranormal Activity turns a simple haunted house story into 90 minutes of relentless suspense.

Once again, the new Paranormal Activity movie will debut on the new-ish streaming platform Paramount+. It was originally set to hit theaters on March 4, 2022.

Not sure if that release date is still on the books. But one way or the other, we’ll keep you up to date on any further updates that come our way. Stay tuned!

You’re getting old: The Paranormal Activity 3 kids are now 21 and 16 years old.
