Stuntman Teases Amazing ARMY OF THE DEAD Action

Dawn of the Dead and Watchmen director Zack Snyder’s balls to the wall Las Vegas zombie heist epic Army of the Dead will be hitting Netflix THIS year.

And today, stuntman and actor Joe Fidler teases the flick’s “amazing action.”

He tells Literary Joe’s Inner Child Podcast: “Look for some amazing action in Army of the Dead. I think that everyone will be impressed with what goes on and what was created. So the stunt team around that was top tier, and they had a good, fair budget for what they were trying to do. There was a lot of preparation that went into it. The guys who worked on it and everyone who put it together really knocked it out of the park. So I think you should look for a lot of really great action in that.”

The MPAA slapped the movie with an R-rating for strong bloody violence, gore, and language throughout, some sexual content, and brief nudity/graphic nudity.

Snyder says about Army of the Dead: “90% of our zombies are practical. The zombie war, the action sequences, the fighting, [Damon Caro] and I worked hard to create insane zombie mayhem. The thing about the movie that I think will be really exciting for people is the tone. That kind of tone where the movie has fun but doesn’t make fun. I really wanted to make a no holds barred, zombie insanity.

He adds: “It is a full-blown, balls-to-the-wall zombie heist movie, so it’s genre-on-genre in a great way. So you expect pure zombie mayhem, and you get that, 100 percent. But also you get these really amazing characters on a fantastic journey. It’s going to surprise people that there’s a lot of warmth and real emotion.”

Army of the Dead is said to be a spiritual successor to Dawn of the Dead and centers on a group of mercenaries as they plot a heist on a Las Vegas casino during a zombie outbreak. It stars Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi, Huma Qureshi, Omari Hardwick, Hiroyuki Sanada, Garret Dillahunt, Matthias Schweighöfer, Raúl Castillo, Nora Arnezeder, and Samantha Win.
