Baby Yoda or Gizmo? Now GREMLINS star Zach Galligan Explains Who’s Cuter

Who is cuter, Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian, or Gizmo from Gremlins? Well, Gremlins star Zach Galligan thinks he has a clear-cut winner…
He tells EW: “Well, if you’ve looked at my social media, you’ll see that there are a couple of memes on there that sort of poke fun at the similarity between Gizmo and [Baby Yoda]. People have been bombarding me on social media with comparatives, scale drawings, and everything, and coming up with all sorts of theories about whether or not there was any kind of conscious decision behind it. All I can say is this: in many ways, it’s really great because it’s always very helpful in media to have a foil. Which one do you like better? Which one was first? It just is another kind of narrative you can use to drive people’s engagement.“
He adds: “Well, I’m going to say my buddy is cuter. He’s fuzzier and, to me, fuzzy is cuter. Baby Grogu seems like he’s kind of been shaved, or maybe he’s hairless.”

Set after the story of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian centers on another warrior that emerges in the Star Wars universe. Set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order, the series depicts a lone bounty hunter in the outer reaches of the galaxy. The Baby Yoda show sports 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus reads: “Action-packed and expertly-crafted — if at times a bit too withholding — The Mandalorian is a welcome addition to the Star Wars universe that benefits greatly from the cuteness of its cargo.”
