New CLOVERFIELD Sequel in the Works–Won’t Be “Found Footage”

A new Cloverfield sequel is in the works at Paramount Pictures and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot production company. Joe Barton is writing the film, which we’re being told will NOT be a found footage affair. THR broke the news, although little else is known about the film at this time.

Cloverfield, released in 2008, spawned two loosely connected sequels: 10 Cloverfield Lane and The Cloverfield Paradox, released in 2016 and 2018 respectively.

We’ll keep you posted as additional details emerge. Stay tuned and check back often!

In Cloverfield

Synopsis:
As a group of New Yorkers (Michael Stahl-David, Mike Vogel, Odette Yustman) enjoy a going-away party, little do they know that they will soon face the most terrifying night of their lives. A creature the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city, leaving death and destruction in its wake. Using a handheld video camera, the friends record their struggle to survive as New York crumbles around them.

2008’s Cloverfield was directed by Matt Reeves from a script penned by Drew Goddard.
