Stephen King Praises New Version of THE STAND

Director Josh Boone’s adaptation of Stephen King’s magnum opus The Stand is finally streaming on CBS All Access. And it looks like (at least) King is loving it.

He tweets: “I’m loving this iteration of THE STAND. Special kudos to my DOME alumna, Natalie Martinez, and Owen Teague, who was good in IT and really kills it as Harold Lauder. James Marsden…Odessa Young…Alexander, brother of Bill…all so damn good.”

Check out his tweet below.

I agree more with this guy:

The Stand is an apocalyptic vision of the struggle between good and evil of a world decimated by plague. The fate of mankind rests on the shoulders of the 108-year-old Mother Abagail and a handful of survivors. Their worst nightmares are embodied by a nefarious man with unspeakable powers: Randall Flagg.

This version stars James Marsden as Stu Redman, Greg Kinnear as Glen Bateman, and Odessa Young as Frannie Goldsmith. Henry Zaga jins them as Nick Andros and Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Abagail. Jovan Adepo plays Larry Underwood, with Owen Teague as Harold Lauder, Brad William Henke as Tom Cullen. Nat Wolff is Lloyd Henreid, with Heather Graham as Rita Blakemoor, and Daniel Sunjata as Cobb. Eion Bailey plays Teddy Weizak, with Katherine McNamara as Julie Lawry, and Luca Batista as Young Nick. Alexander Skarsgård is Randall Flagg.

Warner Bros. Pictures and CBS Films are developing the series which Boone produces with Jimmy Miller and Roy Lee. Boone also serves as director and wrote the series with Ben Cavell. Boone and Ben Cavell serve as executive producers alongside Roy Lee, Jimmy Miller, and Richard P. Rubinstein with Will Weiske and Miri Yoon serving as co-executive producers and Owen King as producer.
