One of the most hotly-anticipated horror movies of 2021 is Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead is set to hit Netflix this year. Today, Entertainment Weekly shared a new picture from the film, one that features Tig Notaro. Check it out:
Official Synopsis:
Following a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.
EW explains:
The role represents a bit of a departure for the comedian and actress, who is best known for her deadpan stand-up. “My agent called and told me that they wanted me for the film and I said, ‘Oh, okay, cool, so they’re looking at a few people,’ and she said, ‘No, they want you,'” Notaro recalls. “And I said, ‘Oh, that’s really interesting,’ because it’s not my typical role. I’ve done Star Trek: Discovery, but I’ve certainly never been in an action film.”
Army of the Dead is said to be a spiritual successor to 2004’s Dawn of the Dead remake (directed by Snyder) and centers on a group of mercenaries as they plot a heist on a Las Vegas casino during a zombie outbreak. In addition to Notaro, the film stars Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi, Huma Qureshi, Omari Hardwick, Hiroyuki Sanada, Garret Dillahunt, Matthias Schweighöfer, Raúl Castillo, Nora Arnezeder, and Samantha Win.
