Universal Pictures Does the Release Date Shuffle: Jurassic Park in 3D Moved Up and R.I.P.D. Pushed Back

With the summer of 2012 winding down, it’s time to look ahead to the hot months of 2013; and Universal Pictures is doing a bit of shuffling of two films coming out then: Jurassic Park in 3D and R.I.P.D.
Per Deadline, Jurassic Park in 3D has been moved up from July 19, 2013, to April 5 while R.I.P.D., the supernatural comedy that stars Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges, has been pushed back from June 28 to July 19, 2013, filling the spot vacated by JP.
Written by Michael Crichton and David Koepp based on Crichton’s populr novel, Jurassic Park (previously released in 1993) stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum. It tells the tale of a theme park that suffers a major power breakdown, allowing its cloned dinosaur exhibits to run amok during a preview tour.
Along with Reynolds and Bridges, R.I.P.D. stars Kevin Bacon, Stephanie Szostak, Mary-Louise Parker, Marisa Miller, Mike O’Malley, James Hong, Tobias Segal, and Robert Knepper. Robert Schwentke is directing the project, which follows a murdered cop (Reynolds) who is recruited to work in the Rest in Peace Department, a police force comprised of ghosts who battle spirits unready to depart this world. Bridges is playing his ghostly partner.
