Matt Reeves Producing New Period Horror Thriller SWITCHBOARD
Cloverfield and Let Me In director Matt Reeves is currently shooting The Batman. And today we hear he will also produce a period horror movie dubbed Switchboard.
Set in the late 1940s, the film centers on a young female switchboard operator. She finds herself communicating with, and also possibly targeted by, a serial killer. As their conversation intensifies, she begins to question her safety, her sanity, and her very reality. Actor-turned-screenwriter Devon Graye (I See You) penned the script.
THR reports Matt Reeves produces with Rafi Crohn. Margot Hand and Joshua Thurston (Permission) also produce with Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity, Pet Sematary). Dark Hell is co-financing development and will also produce.
If you haven’t seen Graye’s killer thriller I See You yet, I recommend it highly. Adam Randall directed the film from Graye’s screenplay. Helen Hunt (Twister) stars with Owen Teague (IT). It follows a suburban family beset by unexplainable events.
The film sports a 78% on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus reads: I See You gets tripped up on its own narrative contortions, but a solid cast and an effective blend of scares and suspense make this slow-building mystery worth watching.
