Scott Derrickson ‘Hella Happy’ He Ditched DOCTOR STRANGE
Sinister director Scott Derrickson left Doctor Strange 2 aka Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness last year. And today the Deliver Us From Evil director still claims he’s ‘hella happy’ with the decision to hand the reins over to Sam Raimi.
Derrickson tweets regarding Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness: “I’m not an MCU source anymore. I’m just a distant Executive Producer on (the great) Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange sequel— a choice I made and am hella happy with.”

The last we heard on Raimi’s sequel, Xochitl Gomez (Netflix’s The Baby-Sitters Club) joined Benedict Cumberbatch in the film. Character are unknown at this time.
That said, we do know that Elizabeth Olsen (Oldboy) will return. She will reprise her role as Scarlet Witch from Marvel movies such as Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Benedict Wong and Chiwetel Ejiofor also return from the original film.
The film’s set to start shooting in May once Cumberbatch finishes playing Strange in Spider-Man 3. Scott Derickson (Sinister) remains as an executive producer.

The original film told the tale of Dr. Stephen Strange’s whose life changes after a car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he looks for healing, and hope, in a mysterious enclave, and quickly learns it’s at the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying reality. Before long, Strange is forced to choose between his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence.
Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness was originally set to hit on May 7th, 2021, but will now (hopefully) land in theaters on March 25th, 2022.
