Anya Taylor-Joy Thinks She’s ‘Too Weird-Looking’ To Be a Star

Evidently, The Witch, The New Mutants, and Split star Anya Taylor-Joy doesn’t think she is beautiful enough to be a star.
Anya tells The Sun: “I have never and I don’t think I will ever think of myself as beautiful. I don’t think I’m beautiful enough to be in films. It sounds pathetic and my boyfriend warns me people will think I’m an absolute d*** for saying these things, but I just think I’m weird-looking. I won’t go to the cinema to watch my own film. The beauty of being in your own skin is that you don’t have to look at your face.”
Anya Taylor-Joy has a few high-profile movies in the works. They include George Miller’s Mad Max spin-off Furiosa. And Edgar Wright’s Last Night In Soho.

Co-written by Krysty Wilson-Cairns (1917), Last Night in Soho centers on a young girl, passionate about fashion design, who is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters her idol, a dazzling wannabe singer. But 1960s London is not what it seems, and time seems to fall apart with shady consequences.
The film is said to be inspired by other British horror films like Nicolas Roeg’s Don’t Look Now, and Roman Polanski’s Repulsion. On top of all that, Anya Taylor-Joy has teased the film is claustrophobic, intense, and a really well-directed acid trip.
Now I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see what Wright and Taylor-Joy and company have in store for us with the sure-to-be must-see fright flick.
