HIGHLANDER: Will Clancy Brown Return in JOHN WICK Director’s Reboot?

Director Chad Stahelski (John Wick) has been working on a reboot of Highlander. And today star Clancy Brown reveals he won’t be returning to the franchise.

Brown tells ComicBook.com: “Oh, no. My character’s dead. He got his head cut off. That’s not happening anymore. I’m looking forward to the reboot. I hope it gets done. I can’t wait. I would love to see it, but I don’t have any aspirations to be part of that franchise. It was of its time. There’s no reason for me to [return], I did my time. I did my bit. It’s time for other people to have fun with it.”

Bummer.

The original film begins when Christopher Lambert kills a man in a sword fight in a New York parking lot, he leaves a sliver of an ancient weapon lodged in a car in the process. After a brilliant forensics specialist recovers evidence of the mysterious weapon, she and her partner, embark on an investigation that will land them in the middle of a dangerous, centuries-old feud between powerful immortals.

The first film sports a 69% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a funny-ass Critics Consensus that reads: People hate Highlander because it’s cheesy, bombastic, and absurd. And people love it for the same reasons.
