Exclusive Clip From Psychedelic Horror Thriller HABITUAL

With the upcoming psychedelic horror thriller Habitual set to be released next month, we were delighted to have been provided with an exclusive clip from the surreal film directly from the distributor. We’ve embedded the clip for you to enjoy below, along with the film’s trailer.

Written and directed by lead actor Johnny Hickey, Habitual focuses on a bunch of junkies who travel to a long abandoned insane asylum in Salem, Massachusetts, with the hopes of getting high and partying all night. But things take a turn for the worse when they try out a dangerous new drug which causes them to experience Hellish hallucinations, leading them down the road to violence and madness.

In the press release, which was provided to Dread Central, Hickey explained that he was eager to make another drug-tamed movie after his directorial debut, Oxy-Morons, and that Habitual was partially inspired by the recent fentanyl scourge. Considering that fentanyl is far stronger than most other narcotics and can be lethal when taken in large doses, it’s no surprise to think that such a dangerous drug helped to inspire a horror film.

Interestingly, Habitual was filmed at real abated hospitals across the New England area, so expect to see some very creepy and authentic backdrops. The film also stars Ally Doody, Stanley Bruno, Dottie Daigle, Anthony Hoang, Emilee Fitzpatrick, and Chris ‘CT” Tamburello from MTV’s Real World.

If you’re eager to see Habitual, it will be released on VOD platforms and in select cinemas on Friday, November 13, 2020. Seeing as most cinemas across the US are currently closed, you might have to travel a distance to see it on the big screen, but we think it will be worth the effort.
