Trailer: LEAP OF FAITH: WILLIAM FRIEDKIN ON THE EXORCIST Hits Shudder Next Month

Well, it looks like Shudder has snagged the rights to award-winning documentarian Alexandre O. Philippe’s Leap of Faith: William Friedkin on The Exorcist and will be unleashing it exclusively on the streaming platform on November 19th, 2020.

Described as “a lyrical and spiritual cinematic essay on The Exorcist,” it explores the depths of William Friedkin’s mind’s eye, the nuances of his filmmaking process, and the mysteries of faith and fate that have shaped his life and filmography.”

This marks the sixth documentary from Philippe who is best known for films such as 78/52: Hitchcock’s Show Scene and Memory: The Origins of Alien.

He says: “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with the exceptional team at Shudder to bring Leap of Faith to an audience of such savvy, passionate fans of genre cinema. Without a doubt – this is a perfect home and partnership for our film.”

Produced by Kerry Deignan Roy and executive produced by Karyn Kusama, Matt Manfredi, Phil Hay, Joey Porcelli, Randy Pharo, it streams at the Nightstream Film Festival this weekend after hosting its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival. It hits Shudder exclusively on November 19th, 2020.
