One of the best bits of Netflix and Mike Flanagan’s The Haunting of Hill House was the hidden ghost throughout the show. And now, Flanagan teases that these ghosts are puzzles to be solved in the new season, The Haunting of Bly Manor.
Flanagan tells Vanity Fair: “The hidden ghosts in the first season turned out to be one of my favorite things to play with onset. The audience seemed to really like them. I loved watching people double back and try to find more of them. It encourages repeat viewing. We were just trying to hide faces and figures. This season we wanted our hidden elements to tell their own story. And very much unlike the first season, they’re actually going to be explained. By the end of the season, you’re going to know who they are and why they’re there.”
based on Henry James’ novella The Turn of the Screw, The Haunting of Bly Manor stars Victoria Pedretti, Henry Thomas, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and Kate Siegel from The Haunting of Hill House with T’Nia Miller, Catherine Parker, Rahul Kohli, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Amelie Smith, Amelia Eve, and Tahirah Sharif.
Doctor Sleep director Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House) will once again direct along with Yolanda Ramke & Ben Howling (Cargo), Ciarán Foy (Sinister 2), Liam Gavin (A Dark Song), and Axelle Carolyn (Tales of Halloween).
