Robert Eggers’ Viking Epic THE NORTMAN Loses Pennywise Actor Bill Skarsgard

The Witch and The Lighthouse director Robert Eggers a Viking-era revenge tale The Northman is shooting with a killer cast including Bill Skarsgård (IT). But today it looks like Bill’s out due to scheduling conflicts brought on by the COVID pandemic.

Bummer.

Skarsgård tells Collider: “No, unfortunately. It’s been a scheduling nightmare during COVID… Eggers is one of the great filmmakers out there and working with my brother…I don’t want to talk about it, it’s going to make me burst into tears.”

This sucks.

But at least the movie still sports a cast including Alexander Skarsgård along with Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke, and Björk as a witch.

While plot details are scarce, we do know that it takes place in the 10th century and centers on a Nordic prince who seeks revenge after his father is murdered.

Co-written with Icelandic poet/novelist Sjón, The Northman does not have an official release date but filming recently started near the eastern coast of Ireland.
