In Recent Podcast Lin Shaye Says INSIDIOUS Franchise is Probably Over

Last November, we reported that the 5th Chapter of the Insidious franchise would likely begin production in 2020. But 2020 had other plans. On a recent episode of The Production Meeting podcast, franchise star Lin Shaye (who plays psychic warrior Elise Rainier) says she suspects the Insidious franchise is over.

“There was a point where we were (doing it),” Shaye explained. “James (Wan) had an outline for number five which probably would’ve gone back to the original family – which would’ve been a great idea. But Elise’s story is pretty much done… I mean, I would be in the further if it happened. I don’t think there’ll do another. I think it’s done.”

The Insidious franchise launched in 2010. It was followed by Insidious: Chapter 2 in 2013, Insidious: Chapter 3 in 2015, and Insidious: The Last Key in 2018.
