Stephen King Recommends Alex Garland’s DEVS with Nick Offerman

Need something new to binge? Well, The Shining and The Stand author Stephen King recommends Alex Garland’s (28 Days Later, Annihilation) FX/Hulu miniseries Devs with Nick Offerman.

He writes: “DEVS (Hulu/FX) is brainy, beautiful, and mind-bending. I was totally engrossed. If you decide to watch, go into it cold, knowing nothing. Better that way.”

Check out his tweet below.

Devs is a sci-fi thriller miniseries created, written, and directed by Alex Garland. It stars Nick Offerman, Sonoya Mizuno, Jin Ha, Zach Grenier, Stephen McKinley, Cailee Spaeny, Karl Glusman, and Alison Pill.

It premiered on FX on Hulu on March 5, 2020.

Devs is an FX limited series that focuses on a young software engineer named Lily Chan who works for Amaya, a cutting-edge tech company based in Silicon Valley. After her boyfriend Sergei’s apparent suicide, Lily suspects foul play and begins to investigate. She quickly realizes that all roads lead to Forest, Amaya’s enigmatic CEO, and Devs, the company’s secret development division. In Lily’s quest to discover the truth, she uncovers a technology-based conspiracy that could change the world.

The series sports a 81% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: A hauntingly beautiful meditation on humanity, Devs’ slow unfurling may test some viewers patience, but fans of Alex Garland’s singular talents will find much to chew on.
