Elyria, Ohio resident Robert O’Connor, 35, has spent the majority of his life collecting Ghostbusters memorabilia. The film fanatic has a soft spot for the original Ghostbusters, especially Dr. Raymond Stantz (played by Dan Aykroyd) and Winston Zeddemore (played by Ernie Hudson).
“I wouldn’t say that I had a rough childhood or anything, but Ghostbusters was an escape from reality,” O’Connor to The Chronicle.
Decades of escapism may be paying off, as O’Connor is attempting to have his collection verified as a world record. He estimates over 1,200 items in his stash and hopes to have everything documented and verified. The Chronicle explains:
Once approved, the person attempting to get a record recognized is sent a guideline sheet outlining the requirements, paperwork to be filled out and inventory. This process takes another 12 to 16 weeks.
Have a look at some of O’Connor’s collection below.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is slated to hit US theaters in March of 2021. We’re assuming O’Connor will be one of the first to see it!
When a single mother and her two children move to a new town, they soon discover that they have a connection to the original Ghostbusters and their grandfather’s secret legacy.
