While Adam Wingard’s Godzilla vs. Kong was finally set to hit theaters this November. But today we’ve learned it has been delayed a whopping six months and will now open on May 21, 2021.
Here’s what Wingard has to say on the matter.
The monster mash takes place in a time when monsters walk the Earth and humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth.
Godzilla vs. Kong is directed by Adam Wingard from a screenplay written by Terry Rossio based on Godzilla by Toho and King Kong by Edgar Wallace and Merian C. Cooper. Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Eric McLeod, and Brian Rogers produce. It stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Jessica Henwick, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler, Zhang Ziyi, and Demián Bichir. The clash of the titans (may) hit theaters on May 21, 2021.
