Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright’s new nightmare Last Night in Soho with Anya Taylor-Joy and Matt Smith has been (go figure) affected by COVID-19.
The film will no longer make its original September 25th release date and will instead be unleashed on… April 23, 2021! Wright revealed the new release date.
Wright writes: “Haunted by someone else’s past, but we’ll see you in the future… It’s true, Last Night In Soho is not quite finished yet due to COVID-19. But, I’m excited for you all to experience it, at a big screen near you, on April 23, 2021.”

The film is said to be inspired by other British horror films like Nicolas Roeg’s Don’t Look Now, and Roman Polanski’s Repulsion. On top of all that, Anya Taylor-Joy has teased the film is claustrophobic, intense, and a really well-directed acid trip.
Co-written by Krysty Wilson-Cairns (1917), the film is said to center on a young girl, passionate about fashion design, who is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters her idol, a dazzling wannabe singer. But 1960s London is not what it seems, and time seems to fall apart with shady consequences.
It’s written and directed by Edgar Wright who produces with Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Nira Park. Anya Taylor-Joy stars with Matt Smith, Thomasin McKenzie, Diana Rigg, Rita Tushingham, Jessie Mei Li, Michael Ajao, and Terence Stamp.
