Neve Campbell Doesn’t Want Any Part of Blumhouse’s THE CRAFT Reboot

Blumhouse’s reboot of The Craft with Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna, David Duchovny, and Michelle Monaghan has wrapped shooting.

And today, Neve Campbell revealed she didn’t want any part of the new film.

She tells Collider: “With the new Craft, we’ll see. For me, I didn’t really wanna be a part of it, but I think they’ve got a very interesting take, and I hope they get a chance to do something great. I think the timing might’ve been challenging with COVID, but hopefully they’ll be able to finish the film.”

Much like the original starring Fairuza Balk, Robin Tunney, Neve Campbell, and Rachel True, this new take on The Craft centers on a young girl starting at a new school who befriends three other girls and quickly becomes the fourth member of their clique. She soon learns that she somehow brings great power to the quartet.

This resembles the original’s plot, which went like this: After transferring to a Los Angeles high school, Sarah finds her telekinetic gift appeals to a group of wannabe witches, who happen to be seeking a fourth member for their rituals. Bonnie, Rochelle and Nancy, like Sarah herself, all have troubled backgrounds, which combined with their nascent powers lead to dangerous consequences. When a minor spell causes a fellow student to lose her hair, the girls grow power-mad.

Zoe Lister-Jones (Band Aid) directs The Craft from a script she wrote with Daniel Casey (9 Fast 9 Furious). Jason Blum is producing with Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher.
