Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World 3 has begun filming with the new official title Jurassic World: Dominion. And now Fallen Kingdom star Justice Smith talked about returning to the franchise.
Smith tells Collider: “I’m going to shoot Jurassic World 3, in a couple of days, actually. I’m very excited about that. It’s way less scary. I established who I was, within that franchise, with the first film, and so now I just get to play within those goalposts. Before, when I shot the first one, I was trying to find my footing in something that was already an established IP. People really felt some type of way about this story, and I didn’t want to impose or do anything that was out of pocket, in relation to the story. I didn’t wanna mess it up, is what I’m saying. But now, that burden is lifted off of my shoulders, and now I get to have fun and play with dinosaurs.”
Jurassic World 3 sees the return of Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom stars Chris Pratt as Owen and Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire with Jurassic Park stars Laura Dern as Ellie Sattler, Sam Neill as Alan Grant, and Jeff Goldblum as Ian Malcolm.
The third entry will be directed once again by Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World) from a script written by Emily Carmichael and Trevorrow and based on a story by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. Steven Spielberg and Trevorrow will executive produce, with producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley. Jurassic World 3 will roam freely into theaters on June 11, 2021.
While the plot of Jurassic World 3 is under wraps, the last film began three years after the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park, with Owen and Claire returning to the island to save the dinosaurs from a volcano that’s about to erupt. They soon encounter terrifying new breeds of dinosaurs, while uncovering a conspiracy that threatens the entire planet.
