Blood Quantum will be out in theaters in Canada (released by Elevation Pictures) on March 27 and in limited release in the US this Spring, before coming to Shudder (US and UK). Give the red-band trailer a spin embedded at the top of the article and check out the synopsis below.
The dead are coming back to life outside the isolated Mi’gmaq reserve of Red Crow, except for its Indigenous inhabitants who are immune to the zombie plague. Traylor, the tribal sheriff, must protect his son’s pregnant girlfriend, apocalyptic refugees, and reserve riff-raff from the hordes of walking white corpses.
Blood Quantum is written and directed by Mi’gmaq filmmaker Jeff Barnaby (Rhymes for Young Ghouls); the film stars Michael Greyeyes (Fear the Walking Dead, True Detective), Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers (The Body Remembers When the World Broke Open) and Forrest Goodluck (The Miseducation of Cameron Post, The Revenant).
