The CW’s The Lost Boys series just won’t die. Another pilot based on director Joel Schumacher’s classic 80’s vampire flick is in the works and today Deadline reports that its main cast has been set with Branden Cook (Industry), Lincoln Younes (Grand Hotel), and Ruby Cruz (Castle Rock).
Cook plays Garrett, a version of Jason Patric’s Michael from the original movie with Younes as Benjamin (a version of Kiefer Sutherland’s David), and Cruz plays Elsie (Jami Gertz’s Star).
The Vampire Diaries and Batwoman director Marcos Siega will helm the new pilot while executive producer Rob Thomas will co-write the reworked script with Heather Mitchell.
Mitchell, Siega, and Thomas executive produce alongside Dan Etheridge, Mike Karz, and Bill Bindley. Rebecca Franko and Juliana Janes serve as producers.
This CW version will center on a mother and her Gen Z sons who move to the seaside town where she grew up and discover there’s a sinister reason the local cool kids sleep all day, party all night, never grow up and never get old. Family bonds are tested as the brothers find themselves on opposite sides of a mythological struggle.
