Scott Derrickson Wants to Make A CONSTANTINE Movie

Back in January, we passed along the weak news that Sinister director Scott Derrickson had stepped away from directing Marvel’s first horror movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Sam Raimi has taken over that film so all is good. But what comic character would Derrickson like to take on now?

Would you be up for seeing Sinister and Hellraiser: Inferno director Scott Derrickson take on Constantine? Let us know below in the comments or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram

The last time we saw the character on the big screen was in I Am Legend and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence’s 2005 flick starring Keanu Reeves, Rachel Weisz, Shia LaBeouf, Tilda Swinton, Djimon Hounsou, Gavin Rossdale, and Peter Stormare.

Rated R for violence and demonic images, that version centered on suicide survivor/demon hunter John Constantine (Reeves) who has literally been to hell and back – helping policewoman Angela Dodson (Weisz) investigate her identical twin’s apparent suicide, Constantine becomes caught up in a supernatural plot involving both demonic and angelic forces.

Based on the DC/Vertigo Hellblazer comics, the film sports a 46% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: Despite solid production values and an intriguing premise, Constantine lacks the focus of another spiritual shoot-em-up: The Matrix.
